New on Westlaw : Searching Asian Patents

Creating Westlaw and LexisNexis Links

Creating links to Westlaw and LexisNexis can be tricky. Copying and pasting the long URL will not work. Luckily both Westlaw and LexisNexis have developed solutions for this problem. The Future of Westlaw & LexisNexis

The ABA Journal unveiled exclusive screenshots of the upcoming new versions of LexisNexis and Westlaw.

Both Westlaw and LexisNexis continually evolve each year but the new format of both reflects a revolutionary change based on the format of a certain search engine. (that sounds like Ooogle). Boolean searching (and, and not, or) is no longer necessary to effectively search and the design of both websites is much simplified.

Whenever possible links to research guides, descriptions, YouTube instructional videos, and other web resources are included in the pages.  If you prefer to browse databases alphabetically you can still use the QuickClicks Alpha page.

New Electronic Resource – Bar Journals

HeinOnline, long a resource for full text journal articles, now contains dozens of state bar journals. Like most HeinOnline resources the bar journals are full text and scanned copies of the original articles. (No hard to read format changes!) Intelliconnect Improvements

As promised the new CCH Intelliconnect platform (includes Copyright Law Report, tax research, Kluwer Arbitration and more) is improving. It is now easier to search in individual publications by using the “Browse” feature on the right side of the screen.  Previously it took many levels of clicking to find individual titles but now these titles are at the top of the clicking hierarchy.
